Publications Coaching

What does a publications coach do?

A publications coach supports you at every stage of writing an article for publication in an academic journal. This role combines the services offered by an “academic editor” and an “academic writing coach”.

Support could look like:

  • coaching to overcome emotional blocks

  • providing accountability

  • providing tools and frameworks to create a strong positioning and argument

  • high-level editing for story and flow, and

  • copy editing at the final stages of writing.

A publications coach works closely with writers to co-create their manuscript, often playing the role of a co-author. The coach fulfils the role of a thinking partner and functions as a second set of eyes, giving writers the much-needed close feedback for their writing that their co-authors do not have the time to give them.

“I worked with Tanvi during an R&R for an article that eventually got published! She helped me articulate my ideas, which seemed obvious to me but were not clearly or precisely formulated. Her questions during our meetings and her readings of my work were demanding and challenging, but she brought out the best in my research. With her strong experience in academic writing and broad knowledge in different disciplines, she has the perspective to identify what is unclear, what is missing, and what stands out as a gem in your writing.”
